Carp Lake
OUR CARP LAKE VISITORS
It was great to see Doug Angear with us (left) on his monthly visit from London with his Grandsons Jonathan and James. Also good to see a well known local angler, Patrick Kavanagh (below) with us as well. I know the weather was cold and the fish were not biting but I hope you all had an enjoyable time with us. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.
NEW FISH STOCK ARRIVES
As promised, over 50 large Carp have been added to our lakes (see pics). The Carp Lake has had seventeen 15lb plus fish added this Sunday, fourteen 10lb plus have been added to the Specimen Lake along with one 18 pounder. Twenty three 7lb plus fish have been put in the Silver Lake.
We think you'll agree it's an unusual shape. But rest assured it's packed with hidden features, including 18 pegs, for the discerning Carp fisherman to explore. Stocked with a good head of Common and Mirror Carp from VS Fisheries, famous for their fighting and quick growing Carp strains. The majority of the fish run to about 20lbs with a couple of very special 30lbs.
Angling options include whether to fish to the running shelves each side of the island, or into the more open water around the island ends and in the "bowl" at the opposite end. There is also a short linking canal with reed-beds on the opposite bank with a deep channel running its length to harbour migrating fish.
